New piece, new piece! Hear ye, here's ye...and so forth. This is "Ancient Structures" 9" x 13" found tree image with colored tape mounted on reused foamcore. Not very hardcore, but who hardcore would check out this softcore in the first place? 2012 and the sun is slowly becoming more apparent.

Buckbeamed (from the ether, appearing)

Mar. 31 2012

A pillow of damp winds steals away the only bit of dryness, which was desperately needed, and starting to form in areas after relentless and selfish rainfall. This new piece, "Buckbeamed", is dedicated to the sun that will come some day, some day soon. 16" x 20" found buck image with mixed-mediations.

Escape Velocity (beyond the colour realms)

Thanks, once again, to the synthy prog-metal-filmscore band Zombi for inspiring the name of this new piece. "Escape Velocity" 11" x 13" found bird (hawk??) image re-envisioned with colored tape and mixed media. The escape was executed successfully with the help of tracery lines into oblivion. All analog until appearing here.

Leopardscape

Feb. 14 2012

My friend thought this piece was titled "Leopard's Cape" as in the leopard is wearing a cape of some sort. I originally meant for the title to be deciphered as "Leopardscape" as in Landscape. I like the idea that this leopard could be wearing a cape. It never occured to me, and now I see if differently than before. That is to say, more differently than before now. Mayng.

Holding Pattern (Suspended Flight)

Feb. 09 2012

Years ago, I once read the final chapters of Jack Kerouac's The Dharma Bums while caught in a holding pattern high above the Oakland airport in California. The time in the air passed by calmly as I flipped through the pages of beat writer's soul-searching novel. Not a bad way to pass the time in what would have otherwise been a very frustrating flight. This new piece below "Holding Pattern" has nothing in common with my story whatsoever. 2012, colored tape over existing burl wood 70s lodge art. When the mind is exhausted of images, it invents its own, so says Gary Snyder.

Tall Ships (sheeps, shjeeps)

Jan. 21 2012

Ocean bound and found (in some radiant light). This flotilla never reaches the shore; forever aimlessly sailing sans navigation to nowhere. 36" x 36" found ships acrylic artwork, re-mixed with colored tape and traces of bioluminescence.
